The recalled product is the Vivohome Adult Portable Bed Rail. The bed rails measure approximately 36.6 inches long, 16.1 inches wide, and 15.7 inches in height. The product features four metallic stand bars with padding. The top bar is either wooden (model VH1316-WC) or metallic (model VH1316-WH). Both models include a red release button that collapses the bed rail. The model number is printed on the product packaging and the product registration card.

Approximately 400 units are affected by this recall. The recalled bed rails were sold online at Amazon.com and Wayfair.com from November 2023 through September 2024 for about $70. The product was manufactured in China.

3. Hazard Information
According to the recall notice, the recalled bed rails violate the mandatory federal standard for adult portable bed rails. The violation poses a serious entrapment hazard and a risk of death by asphyxiation. Specifically, when the bed rails are attached to a bed, users can become entrapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress. Additionally, the bed rails do not bear the required hazard warning labels. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries or incidents have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bed rails. The recall notice instructs consumers to contact Vivohome to arrange for a full refund. As part of the remedy process, consumers will be asked to write the word “RECALLED” on the rails using a permanent marker.
