3. Hazard Information
According to the recall notice, the handheld hair dryers lack an immersion protection device. This design deficiency can cause death or serious injury due to electrocution or shock if the hair dryer falls into water while plugged in. The CPSC notice states that the hair dryers are in violation of federal regulations and present a substantial product hazard.
