1. Recall Summary
This recall involves Anecdote Autumn Glass Candles sold exclusively at Anthropologie. The recall was initiated by Anecdote Candles, of New York, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall notice was published on February 16, 2022. Approximately 19,380 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 623 units were sold in Canada.

2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Anecdote Autumn Glass Candles in four specific scents. The candle’s scent and the words “Anecdote Candles for Anthropologie” are printed on a label on the side of the glass container. The candles are made with glass tumblers, a wood lid, a cotton core wick, phthalate-free fragrance oil, and a coconut-soy wax blend. The SKU number is located on the price label on the bottom of the candles.

The specific recalled scents, colors, and SKU numbers are as follows:
– Fireside Chats (Blue) – SKU Number: 0063344923
– Weekend Getaway (Green) – SKU Number: 0063344980
– Fall Feels (Orange) – SKU Number: 0063344964
– Sweater Weather (Pink) – SKU Number: 0063344949

The candles were sold at Anthropologie stores nationwide and online at www.anthropologie.com from July 2021 through December 2021 for approximately $32.

3. Hazard Information
The double wick candles can achieve higher than usual flames, causing the glass container to break apart. This poses fire and laceration hazards. According to the recall notice, Anthropologie has received nine reports of the candles flaming up, cracking, or breaking apart while in use, resulting in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candle. The official instructions from the recall notice state that consumers should return the candle to an Anthropologie store. If the candle cannot be returned in store, consumers should visit www.anthropologie.com/recall for instructions on how to cut the candle wicks and dispose of the product. After providing verification of this disposal to Anthropologie, consumers will receive a full refund. Anthropologie is contacting all known purchasers directly.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy for this recall is a full refund. Consumers who return the product to an Anthropologie store will receive a refund at the point of return. Consumers who cannot return the product in store must follow the online instructions for cutting the wicks and disposing of the product, provide verification to Anthropologie, and will then receive a full refund.
