1. Recall Summary
Advantage Sales & Marketing LLC, the licensee of the Good Matters brand, of Irvine, California, is recalling approximately 30,100 units of Good Matters three-wick candles. The recall was initiated due to a fire and laceration hazard. The firm has received four reports of the candles catching on fire, cracking, or breaking apart while in use, resulting in minor property damage and one consumer being burned. The candles were sold at Bealls, Gabriel Brothers, Homegoods, and Tuesday Morning stores nationwide and online at www.amazon.com and www.goodmatterscandles.com from December 2021 through August 2022 for about $50. The candles were manufactured in Vietnam.
2. Affected Products
This recall involves Good Matters three-wick candles in a 21 oz. glass tumbler with a wooden lid. The word “Good Matters” is embossed on the top of the lid. The recalled candles were sold in the following colors: black, blue, white, yellow, pink, and blue. The recalled scents are: Leather+Oud, Citrus+Basil, Cypress+Fig, Homecoming, Snowfall, Wild Pine, Hope, Love, and Peace. The front of the jar is printed with “Good Matters” and one of the following phrases: Hope, No. 1, Love, No. 2, Peace, No. 3, Cypress+Fig, Leather+Oud, Citrus+Basil, or Winter Wonderland.

3. Hazard Information
The candles can burn at higher than usual temperatures, causing the jars to break. This poses fire and laceration injury hazards. The firm has received four reports of the candles catching on fire, cracking, or breaking apart while in use. These incidents resulted in minor property damage and one consumer being burned.
4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles. Consumers must contact the firm for instructions on how to cut the candle wicks and dispose of the product. Consumers will be asked to certify disposal of the product.
