Recall Summary
This recall involves Yamaha-brand PA-300C AC power adaptors. The adaptors were sold with Yamaha-brand arranger workstations, digital pianos, and music control panels, as well as Steinberg-brand audio interfaces. The adaptors were also sold separately as service parts and built into certain Yamaha-brand Clavinova digital pianos. The recall was initiated by Yamaha Corporation of America. The recall date is May 8, 2025. The recall number is 25254. Approximately 37,400 units are affected in the United States.
Affected Products
The recalled product is the Yamaha PA-300C AC power adaptor. The adaptors are black and have the model name, model number, efficiency level, and serial number printed on the rating label. The recalled adaptors were manufactured from July 2010 through May 2012. The fifth character in the serial number corresponds to the year of manufacture, and the sixth character corresponds to the month. For example, a serial number of XXXX24XXXXX corresponds to April 2012. Recalled serial numbers include those with the following fifth and sixth character combinations: XXXX0XXXXXX, XXXX1XXXXXX, XXXX21XXXXX, XXXX22XXXXX, XXXX23XXXXX, XXXX24XXXXX, and XXXX25XXXXX. The efficiency level for all recalled adaptors is “V.”
The recalled adaptors were built into the following Yamaha Clavinova digital piano models: CLP-430R, CLP-430B, CLP-430M, CLP-430PE, CVP-601B, and CVP-601PE. The serial number ranges for these pianos are UCQ**, UCR**, UCS**, UCTH*, and UCTI**. The adaptors were sold at music stores nationwide and online, including at www.shop.usa.yamaha.com, from September 2010 through November 2014. When sold separately as a service repair part, the adaptor cost about $70. The adaptors were manufactured in China.
Hazard Information
The AC power adaptors can overheat and ignite, posing burn and fire hazards. The firm has received four reports of adaptors burning or smoking. No injuries have been reported.
Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using and unplug the recalled PA-300C AC power adaptor. Consumers should not damage their recalled adaptor until they have read the recall instructions online. Consumers who own a Yamaha-brand Clavinova digital piano with a recalled adaptor should unplug the piano and contact Yamaha. Consumers should visit www.yamaha.com/us/support/pa300crecall/ for instructions to participate in the recall. Consumers will need to submit their information through an online form or by email, and will need to submit evidence of product destruction with their claim.

Consumers should contact Yamaha Corporation of America for a free replacement adaptor. For consumers who own a Yamaha-brand Clavinova digital piano with a recalled adaptor, Yamaha will provide piano technician services to perform an on-site inspection of the piano and provide a free replacement adaptor.
