The serial number on the recalled units ends in the number 0 through 9 or the letter “D.” The recalled portable chargers were sold in black and white and have “65w” printed on the front. The bottom of the unit contains a printed label with the brand name “Baseus,” the model number “BS-30KP365,” and the serial number, beginning “SN.” The manufacturer country is China.
3. Hazard Information
The hazard identified in the recall notice is that the lithium-ion battery in the recalled portable chargers can overheat, posing a fire hazard. The recall notice explicitly states that recalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries because they present a greater risk of fire. Regarding disposal of the recalled unit, the recall notice provides the following instructions: Consumers should contact their municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center to ask whether they accept recalled lithium-ion batteries. If the HHW collection center does not accept them, consumers should contact their municipality for further guidance.
