Recall Summary
This recall involves reusable plastic tumblers with a metal straw, sold exclusively at Wawa stores. The recall was initiated by HALO Branded Solutions Inc., of Sterling, Illinois, and was published on October 31, 2024, under CPSC Recall Number 25025. The tumblers were manufactured in China. Approximately 60,000 units are affected.

Affected Products
The recalled product is a 24-ounce reusable plastic tumbler that comes with a metal straw and a tan lid. The tumblers are imprinted with the word “Wawa” and are available in four styles: “The Mermaid” (pink/green), “Island Surf” (blue/yellow), “Sailor Breeze” (tan/orange), and “The Galaxy” (blue/pink). The tumblers were sold at Wawa stores in Alabama, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland during the month of August 2024. The retail price was approximately $13. No model numbers or UPCs are specified in the recall notice.

Hazard Information
The metal straw inside the tumbler can cut the user’s mouth and/or fingers, posing a laceration hazard. The firm has received four reports of incidents, resulting in four laceration injuries to the hand and mouth. No other hazard types are listed in the recall notice.

Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled metal straw that comes with the tumbler. Consumers must contact HALO for instructions on how to receive a free replacement silicone straw after returning the metal straw. If consumers do not wish to keep the tumbler, they may return it along with the metal straw to receive a refund in the form of a $15 gift card. The original tumbler and metal straw must be returned to HALO to receive the refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required to receive a replacement or refund. HALO will provide a pre-paid label for shipping the recalled units. Consumers should not return the recalled units to Wawa stores.

Official Remedy
Two remedy options are available:
1. Replacement: Consumers may return only the metal straw to HALO and receive a free replacement silicone straw.
2. Refund: Consumers may return both the tumbler and the metal straw to HALO and receive a $15 gift card as a refund.

HALO will provide a pre-paid shipping label for returning the recalled items. No proof of purchase is required for either remedy.
