Recall Summary
On July 3, 2025, Trane U.S. Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of certain Gas/Electric Packaged Units sold under the Trane and American Standard brand names. The recall notice was published on the CPSC website. The recall involves approximately 4,790 units in the United States. The units were manufactured in Mexico.

Affected Products
The recall includes five specific models of Gas/Electric Packaged Units. The brand name (Trane or American Standard) is printed on the front of the units. The model number and serial number are located on the outside of the back of the unit. The recalled models and their corresponding serial number ranges are as follows:

– Model 4YCZ5024F1060A: Serial numbers 24061381FA through 24453189FA
– Model 4YCZ5036F1070A: Serial numbers 24013024FA through 24482966FA
– Model 4YCZ5036F1090A: Serial numbers 24061367FA through 24442702FA
– Model 4YCZ5048E1090A: Serial numbers 24061326FA through 24492348FA
– Model 4YCZ5048E1115A: Serial numbers 24106164FA through 24415095FA

The units were sold by HVAC distributors and dealers nationwide from January 2024 through March 2025. The retail price ranged between $8,250 and $12,900.

Hazard Information
The hazard identified in the recall notice is that the fuel gas valve in the recalled units can open unexpectedly. This condition can allow a gas leak, which poses a fire hazard. The firm, Trane U.S. Inc., has received one report of gas leaking from the recalled two-stage gas furnace/air conditioners. No injuries have been reported in connection with this hazard.
