1. Recall Summary

This recall involves Semfri-branded children’s multi-purpose helmets. The recall was initiated because the helmets violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets. The helmets do not comply with impact attenuation, positional stability, labeling, and certification requirements. As a result, the helmets can fail to protect the user in the event of a crash, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to head injury. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. The recall was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

2. Affected Products

The recalled product is the Semfri children’s multi-purpose helmet. The helmets were sold in size medium (M), fitting a head circumference of approximately 20.5 to 22.8 inches. Available colors include orange, black, blue, navy blue, pink, red, and white. All recalled helmets have black padding, black straps, and a black buckle. A black plastic knob is located at the back of the helmet for adjusting the fit. The size is printed on a black circular label located inside the helmet. Approximately 300 units are affected by this recall. The helmets were sold online at Walmart.com from June 2025 through November 2025 for between $19 and $28. The distributor is Jinjiangshi XunMai Network Technology Co., Ltd., dba Semfri, of China. The helmets were manufactured in China.

3. Hazard Information

The recalled helmets violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets. Specifically, the helmets do not comply with the required standards for impact attenuation, positional stability, labeling, and certification. Because the helmets fail to meet these standards, they cannot be relied upon to provide adequate protection during a crash. This failure poses a risk of serious injury or death due to head injury. As of the recall publication date, no injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled helmets. Consumers are instructed to destroy the helmet by cutting the straps. After destroying the helmet, consumers must send a photo of the destroyed helmet to Semfri at the email address provided below. The photo serves as proof of destruction to initiate the refund process.

5. Official Remedy

The official remedy for this recall is a full refund. Consumers who follow the destruction and photo submission instructions will receive a full refund from Semfri.
