Recall Summary
On July 24, 2025, Pura Scents Inc., of Pleasant Grove, Utah, announced a recall of detachable covers for Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers. The recall was published under CPSC Recall Number 25408. The recall involves the detachable cover of the diffuser, which contains five magnets (three small and two larger magnets). The firm has received three reports of the magnets detaching from the cover. No injuries have been reported.
Affected Products
The recalled product is the Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffuser with a detachable cover. The diffuser measures approximately 4 inches wide and 4 inches long. The serial number is located on the rear label above the metal prongs. Affected serial numbers fall within the following ranges: JX230000001 to JX230801425, and JX240000001 to JX240049959.
Approximately 851,400 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 1,100 units were sold in Canada. The diffusers were sold at Pura.com, Amazon.com, Target.com, and Scheels.com, as well as at Target, Scheels, and other stores nationwide, from August 2023 through May 2025, for about $50. The product was manufactured in China.
Hazard Information
The magnets on the inside cover of the diffuser can detach, posing an ingestion hazard to children. The recall notice states that when high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting and/or blockage of the intestines, infection, blood poisoning, and death.
The firm has received three reports of the magnets detaching from the cover. No injuries have been reported as of the recall date.
Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately dispose of the existing detachable cover while waiting for the replacement cover. Consumers should also keep the diffusers out of the reach of children and pets. Consumers should contact Pura Scents to receive a free replacement front cover. Pura Scents is contacting all known purchasers directly.
