Primark US Corp., of Boston, Massachusetts, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a voluntary recall of The Nightmare Before Christmas Glow-in-the-Dark Coloring Sets. The recall was initiated due to a chemical hazard identified in the crayons included with the set. The recall notice was published on January 29, 2026.

2. Affected Products
The recall involves the Primark The Nightmare Before Christmas Glow-in-the-Dark Coloring Set. The set includes five coloring sheets and five glow-in-the-dark crayons in purple, yellow, pink, blue, and orange. The crayons are wrapped in black paper that reads “GLOW IN THE DARK” and features images of the head of Jack Skellington and snowflakes. The product code “0309401” is printed on the price tag located on the back of the packaging. “Primark” is printed on the top left corner on the front of the packaging and above the Mickey Mouse logo on the back of the packaging. The book measures approximately 11.5 x 8 inches. Approximately 600 units were sold. The products were manufactured in China. The recalled sets were sold at Primark stores in the northeast United States, as well as in Florida, Maryland, and Illinois, from October 2024 through July 2025. The retail price ranged between $1.45 and $4.50.

3. Hazard Information
The crayons in the coloring set have been found to contain high levels of strontium and aluminum. According to the recall notice, this may present a risk if ingested, posing a poisoning hazard if ingested by young children. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries or incidents have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the recalled Coloring Set. The exact instruction from the recall notice is: “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Coloring Set and return it to a Primark store for a full refund in the form of the original payment.”

The official remedy offered by Primark is a full refund. Consumers who return the recalled product to any Primark store will receive a refund in the form of the original payment method used at the time of purchase.
