Recall Summary
On September 19, 2024, CVB Inc., of Logan, Utah, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of Lucid Platform Beds with Upholstered Square Tufted Headboards. The recall is identified by CPSC Recall Number 24372. The beds were manufactured in Malaysia and sold in the United States and Canada. Approximately 137,000 units were sold in the United States, and about 890 units were sold in Canada.

Affected Products
The recall involves Lucid Platform Beds with an upholstered square tufted headboard. The beds were sold in the following sizes: Twin, Full, Queen, King, and Cal-King. Available colors include beige, black, charcoal, cobalt, pearl, and stone. The recalled beds have wooden support beams and wooden support legs. A white federal law label is located on the backside of the headboard. That label bears the text: “Made For: CVB INC, 1525 W 2960 S, LOGAN, UT 84321.” The beds were sold online at Amazon.com, Bed Bath & Beyond, Belk.com, Brookside, eBay, Home Depot, JC Penney, Lowes.com, Lucid, Macys, Menards, Overstock, QVC, Sears.com, Target.com, Malouf VIP, Wayfair, and Walmart, as well as in stores nationwide. The sale period was from September 2019 through April 2024. The retail price range was between $150 and $250.

Hazard Information
According to the recall notice, the recalled beds can sag, break, or collapse during use. This condition poses fall and injury hazards to consumers. The firm has received 245 reports of the beds breaking, sagging, or collapsing during use. These incidents have resulted in 18 injuries, including contusions and bruises.

Consumer Action Required
Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the recalled beds. To receive a remedy, consumers must write the word “recalled” on the support rails of the bed using a permanent marker. After marking the support rails, consumers must send a photo of the bed, as well as a photo of the support rails on the underside of the bed or a photo of the law label, to recall@lucidmattress.com. No other action is specified in the recall notice for initiating the remedy process.

Official Remedy
The official remedy is a free replacement bed frame. After submitting the required photographs to the email address provided, consumers will receive the free replacement product. The remedy option is listed as “Replace.” No refund or other remedy option is specified in the recall notice.
