On July 31, 2025, Backyard Kids, LLC, of Plano, Texas, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchens. The play kitchens were sold online at KidKraft.com, Amazon.com, and Walmart.com from 2018 through July 2025 for a retail price between $120 and $270.

3. Hazard Information
The hazard involves plastic or metal hooks located on the back of the play kitchen. These hooks are designed to hold toy kitchen accessories such as play pots and pans. If young children are climbing on the counter or crawling through the opening at the back of the play kitchen, their clothing can get caught on these hooks. This poses a strangulation hazard. According to the recall notice, in February 2023 in Oregon, a 23-month-old child was asphyxiated after his shirt got caught on one of the hooks while climbing and crawling through the opening at the back of the play kitchen where the toy kitchen accessories are held. The child was unable to rescue himself and died from strangulation and asphyxia.
