FACTUAL RECALL INFORMATION RECORD
Recall Summary
On August 28, 2025, DT Swiss, of Grand Junction, Colorado, initiated a recall (CPSC Recall Number 25445) for approximately 6,000 DT Swiss Carbon Fiber Road Wheels sold in the United States, plus about 150 units sold in Canada. The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The wheels were sold both as aftermarket products and as original equipment on various high-end road bicycle brands. The retail period was September 2024 through July 2025, with prices ranging from $1,000 to $1,880. The recall was prompted by a defect that can compromise the wheel’s structural integrity, posing a crash hazard. DT Swiss has received six reports of the outermost carbon layer separating around the rim flange. No injuries have been reported.

The recalled products are DT Swiss Carbon Fiber Road Wheels with the following model codes:
– ERC 35mm and 45mm

All wheels with a DT Swiss ID code of 2740000 or higher are affected. The DT Swiss ID code is a seven-digit number located on a small label on the outside of the wheel rim. The label states “DT Swiss ID” followed by the seven-digit code. The model code is also indicated on that label. The wheels were sold at independent bicycle dealers nationwide and were also installed as original equipment on a variety of high-end road bicycles. The manufacturer countries listed for these products are the United States, Poland, and Taiwan.
Hazard Information
The recall notice states: “A defect in the wheel can compromise the wheel’s structural integrity, posing a crash hazard.” As of the recall publication date, the firm had received six reports of the outermost carbon layer separating around the rim flange. No injuries have been reported.
