On January 19, 2023, a recall was announced for NewCosplay brand children’s sleepwear. The recalled products are NewCosplay long-sleeved, button-up one-piece children’s sleepwear. The garments are made of 100% polyester and were sold in sizes 4T through 10 years. The sleepwear was available in three character designs: pink pig, blue elephant, and lion. The inside seam label displays the fiber content and washing instructions. The sewn-in neck label displays the garment’s size and the word “NEWCOSPLAY.”

Approximately 280 units were affected by this recall. The sleepwear was sold exclusively online at www.amazon.com from December 2021 through May 2022, with a retail price range between $17 and $26. The manufacturer of the product is Suzhou Rongtai Home Textile Co. Ltd., of China. The importer is Weihai Juanhai Decoration Material, of China.

3. Hazard Information

The recalled children’s sleepwear fails to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. This violation poses a risk of burn injuries to children. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries or incidents have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required

Consumers should immediately take the recalled sleepwear garments away from children and stop using them. Consumers are instructed to destroy the garments by cutting them in half. After destroying the garment, consumers must email a photo of the destroyed garment to Weihai Juanhai Decoration Material at suzhoudt123@163.com. Upon receipt of the photo, consumers will be issued a full refund of the purchase price. Weihai Juanhai Decoration Material and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly.
