1. Recall Summary
On April 13, 2023, Goumi Inc., of Beaverton, Oregon, issued a recall for children’s robes. The recall was initiated because the robes fail to meet federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a burn hazard. 2. Affected Products
The recall involves children’s robes made of 100% cotton. The robes have two functional front pockets and an attached belt. They were distributed in children’s sizes 0 through 6T and are available in two colors: natural and alabaster. The sewn-in neck label displays the brand name “goumikids” and the robe’s size. The inside tag includes material content, washing instructions, and the text “Made in China, designed in Portland, OR.” Approximately 760 units are affected. The robes were distributed as a complimentary gift to consumers in January 2023 via direct mailing as part of Goumi’s loyalty program. The manufacturer country is China.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled children’s robes fail to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. This violation poses a risk of burn injuries to children. As of the recall date, no injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately take the recalled robes away from children and stop using them. Consumers must destroy the robes by cutting them both vertically and horizontally and then dispose of the pieces in accordance with local state recycling laws. After destroying the robes, consumers should send an image of the destroyed recalled robes to Goumi by email at productrecall@goumikids.com. Upon receipt of the image, consumers will be issued instructions on how to receive a replacement product. Goumi is also contacting known consumers directly.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a replacement product. Consumers who follow the destruction and image submission process will receive a $48 store credit towards a replacement product. The remedy option is listed as “Replace.”
