1. Recall Summary
On January 12, 2022, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published Recall Number 22053. This recall involves children’s robes distributed by HulovoX, of Zhejiang, China. The recall was initiated due to the robes failing to meet federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a burn hazard. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. The recalled products are children’s long-sleeved robes made of 100% micro polyester. They were available in sizes 3T through 12. The robes were sold in twenty-two multicolored tie-dye and rainbow colorways. Specific colorways and patterns identified in the recall include: White Heart Tie-Dye, White Stars Tie-Dye, White Stars Pink/Blue Tie-Dye, White Horses Tie-Dye, Blue With White Stars, White Dots Tie-Dye, Purple Tie-Dye With Dots, Pink With Dots, Rose/Yellow/Orange Tie-Dye, White Dots Blue Tie-Dye, Pink Tie-Dye White Unicorns, pink tie-dye with dots, purple tie-dye with horses, stripe tie-dye, yellow tie-dye, yellow tie-dye with stars, purple white dots, stripe tie-dye with unicorn heads, stripe tie-dye, yellow tie-dye with unicorns, purple white unicorns, and blue/purple/orange with dots.
The robes feature a sewn-in side seam belt, an internal button closure, and some have a hood with unicorn décor (mane, ears, and horn). The sewn-in neck label states the fiber content, washing instructions, and “Made in China.” The sewn-in side seam label states the garment’s size. The robes were sold online at Amazon.com from January 2021 through May 2021 for approximately $30.
3. Hazard Information
The recalled robes fail to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. This violation poses a risk of burn injuries to children. As of the recall date, no injuries had been reported.
4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately take the recalled robes away from children and stop using them. Consumers who purchased the garments from Amazon.com will be contacted through Amazon’s messaging platform and provided prepaid mailers to return the products for a refund. Consumers can also contact HulovoX directly to request a postage prepaid mailer to return the products for a full refund.
