2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Bubble Bear brand crib mattresses with a manufacture date of April 2022 and batch number 20220428CD. Two specific models are included in the recall:

– Model CD-03 (“Gray Style”): This mattress has a gray top with a crisscross white pattern and off-white sides.
– Model CD-02 (“Happy Time”): This mattress has a white top with a paint brush, boat, and mountain print.

Both models feature the name “Bubble Bear” printed on a sewn-in tag that also displays a teddy bear. The manufacture date, model number, and batch number are printed on the sewn-in label.

Approximately 750 units of these mattresses were sold. The mattresses were sold exclusively online at Amazon.com from May 2022 through July 2022 for about $55. The importer is Shenzhen Coral Island Furniture Co, doing business as Coral Island, of China. The mattresses were manufactured in China.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled crib mattresses violate the federal safety regulation for mattresses. Specifically, they fail to meet the flammability and labeling requirements. This failure poses a fire hazard to children. No injuries or incidents have been reported as of the date of the recall notice.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled crib mattresses. The firm, Shenzhen Coral Island Furniture, and Amazon are contacting all purchasers directly by email with instructions.

To initiate the remedy process, consumers must use scissors to cut out the top fabric on both sleep surfaces of the mattress. After cutting out the fabric from both sides, consumers must submit photos of each side (showing the cut-out fabric) to the firm’s email address. Upon receipt and verification of these photos, consumers will receive a full refund and instructions on how to dispose of the mattress.

The official remedy for this recall is a full refund. Consumers are required to destroy the mattress by cutting out the top fabric on both sleep surfaces and providing photographic proof of this action to the firm. After submitting the photos, the firm will provide a full refund and directions on how to properly dispose of the mattress.
