1. Recall Summary
This recall involves Rinnai-brand i-Series Plus residential wall-mounted gas boilers. The recall was initiated by Rinnai America Corporation, of Peachtree City, Georgia. The boilers were manufactured in Japan. The recall notice was published on June 5, 2025, by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under Recall Number 25313. 2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Rinnai-brand i-Series Plus residential wall-mounted gas boilers. The specific model numbers included in this recall are: IP175S, IP199S, IP175199C, and IP199199C. The boilers are rectangular and metal, with the name “Rinnai” printed in black near the top and a temperature display and keypad located near the bottom of the front of the boiler. The top white label on the side of the boiler states “MADE IN JAPAN” and includes the model number followed by a reference code in parenthesis, “TYPE OF GAS NATURAL GAS,” and “SERIAL NO.” followed by letters and numbers.

The units were sold by independent heating and plumbing contractors and wholesale distributors nationwide, as well as online at Amazon.com, Homedepot.com, and Lowes.com. The boilers were sold from September 2024 through February 2025, with a retail price between $3,900 and $5,000. The total number of units affected in the United States is approximately 2,030. An additional 249 units were sold in Canada.

3. Hazard Information
The hazard associated with this product is carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. According to the recall notice, the boiler door can fail to seal properly due to incorrect screws. This failure allows carbon monoxide gases to escape from the boiler. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported in connection with this hazard.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the recalled boilers. Consumers who must continue using the boiler while awaiting repair are instructed to have working carbon monoxide alarms installed on each level of their homes and outside sleeping areas. Consumers should then contact Rinnai to arrange for a certified technician to perform the repair.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy for this recall is a free repair. Rinnai will arrange for a certified technician to install the repair at no cost to the consumer.
