1. Recall Summary
This recall involves all BMC-branded Kaius 01 bicycles and framesets. The recall was initiated by BMC Switzerland AG, of Switzerland, and the importer is BMC USA Corporation, of Scotts Valley, California. The bicycles were manufactured in Taiwan. The recall notice was published on March 13, 2025. Only bicycles and framesets equipped with a V5 fork are affected by this recall.

2. Affected Products
The recalled products are BMC-branded Kaius 01 bicycles and framesets. The brand name “BMC” is printed on the downtube of the bicycles. The products were sold in the following colors: Peacock Spider, Carbon Black/Brushed Blue, Purple/White, White/Black, Turquoise/Black, Saffron/Black, and Stone Grey. The recall affects approximately 1,300 units in the United States. The bicycles and framesets were sold by authorized BMC bicycle dealers nationwide and online from July 2022 through February 2025. The retail price range for the bicycles was between $4,500 and $12,000. Specific model numbers and UPCs are not specified in the recall notice.

3. Hazard Information
The hazard associated with this recall is that the fork steerer tube on the recalled bicycles and framesets can crack, break, or separate during use. This condition poses a fall hazard to the rider.
