BISSELL Homecare Inc., of Grand Rapids, Michigan, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, announced a voluntary recall of certain cordless multi-surface wet dry vacuum models. The recall was initiated due to a fire hazard associated with the product’s battery pack. The recall notice was published on January 12, 2023.

3. Hazard Information

The circuit board inside the vacuum’s battery pack can overheat and smoke, posing a fire hazard.

Incidents Reported:
BISSELL has received 66 reports of the vacuum smoking and emitting a burning odor. This includes five reports of the battery pack catching on fire. Of those five fire incidents, three resulted in minor property damage and one resulted in a burn injury.
