Recall Summary
This recall involves all Canyon Speedmax CF triathlon bicycle models R073 and R41 equipped with V21 aerostems. The recall was announced on February 27, 2025, by Canyon Bicycles USA Inc., of Carlsbad, California, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The bicycles were manufactured in Taiwan. Approximately 1,400 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 380 units were sold in Canada. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

Affected Products
The recalled products are Canyon Speedmax CF triathlon bicycles, models R073 and R41, with V21 aerostems. The bicycles are made of carbon fiber and were sold in the following color schemes: black/red, black/blue, gray/orange, and red and black. The word “Canyon” is printed on the downtube of the frame. The word “Speedmax” is printed on the top tube. The designation “V21” is printed on the left side of the stem. The model number can be found on a sticker located at the top of the seat tube, just below the saddle. The bicycles were sold exclusively online at Canyon.com from May 2017 through July 2024, with prices ranging between $4,000 and $5,000.

Hazard Information
The aerostem fork steerer tube on the recalled bicycles can crack or break. This condition poses a fall and injury hazard to the rider. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles. Consumers should then contact a Canyon Authorized Service Partner to schedule a free repair. Canyon is contacting all known purchasers directly regarding this recall.

Official Remedy
The official remedy is a free repair. The repair will include removal and inspection of the fork steerer tube. If needed, a fork replacement will be performed. Additionally, preventative reinforcement of the clamping area of the fork steerer tube will be carried out. No other remedy options are specified in the recall notice.
