1. Recall Summary
Yamaha Corporation of America is recalling approximately 37,400 Yamaha-brand PA-300C AC power adaptors. The recall was published on May 8, 2025, under CPSC Recall Number 25254. The adaptors were sold with Yamaha-brand arranger workstations, digital pianos, and music control panels, as well as Steinberg-brand audio interfaces. They were also sold separately as service parts and built into certain Yamaha-brand Clavinova digital pianos. The recalled adaptors were manufactured from July 2010 through May 2012.
2. Affected Products
The recalled product is the Yamaha PA-300C AC power adaptor. The adaptors are black and have the model name, model number, efficiency level, and serial number printed on the rating label. The fifth character of the serial number indicates the year of manufacture, and the sixth character indicates the month. For example, XXXX24XXXXX corresponds to April 2012.

The adaptors were sold at music stores nationwide and online, including www.shop.usa.yamaha.com, from September 2010 through November 2014. They were also sold separately as service repair parts for about $70. The adaptors were manufactured in China. The importer is Yamaha Corporation of America, of Buena Park, California.
3. Hazard Information
The AC power adaptors can overheat and ignite, posing burn and fire hazards. The firm has received four reports of adaptors burning or smoking. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers who own a Yamaha-brand Clavinova digital piano with a recalled adaptor should unplug the piano and contact Yamaha.
