1. Recall Summary
Yamaha Corporation of America, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of approximately 34,500 units of the Yamaha PA-10 AC Power Adaptor. The recall was published on March 7, 2024. The recalled power adaptors were sold with specific Yamaha analog mixing console models and as stand-alone replacement parts. The adaptors were manufactured in China.

2. Affected Products
The recall involves the Yamaha PA-10 AC Power Adaptor. The product is a black power adapter with “Yamaha” printed on the front. The date code is printed on the back of the unit. The recalled units have date codes ranging from 2126 to 2319. Only the Yamaha PA-10 AC Power Adaptor is subject to this recall.

The PA-10 AC Power Adaptor was bundled with the following five Yamaha analog mixing console models:

– MG10X CV
– MG10XU
– MG10XUF
– MG12XUK

The adaptor was also sold as a stand-alone replacement part.

The products were sold at Guitar Center, Amazon.com, Sweetwater Sound, Sam Ash, Musicians Friend, B & H Foto & Electronics, American Musical Supply, and other independent, authorized Yamaha professional audio stores nationwide. They were also sold directly by Yamaha online at www.usa.yamaha.com and www.shop.usa.yamaha.com/. The products were sold from June 2021 through November 2023 for approximately $60.

3. Hazard Information
According to the recall notice, a crack can occur between the PA-10 AC Power Adapter’s upper and lower cases. The upper and lower cases can separate completely, exposing electrical wiring. This poses electrical shock and electrocution hazards to consumers. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.
