Recall Summary

The manufacturer, Playworld Systems Inc., of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, initiated the recall due to a risk of serious injury and crush hazard. One child sustained a liver laceration when the end of the seesaw plank landed on her abdomen. The second child suffered fractures to his right tibia and right fibula when the end of the seesaw plank landed on him.

The recalled product is the Playworld Unity Teeter Tunnel with Lexan Top. The seesaws allow multiple children to stand, sit, and lie down on them and to crawl into a tunnel. The following part numbers are included in this recall: ZZXX0182, ZZXX0182S, ZZXX0192, and ZZXX0192S. The part number appears on the original purchase order and on the installation instructions. Approximately 329 units are affected. The products were sold by Playworld Systems sales representatives and their authorized independent sales representatives nationwide from October 2014 through March 2025 for between $13,450 and $13,600. The products were manufactured in the United States.

Hazard Information
If a child accidentally falls underneath the Unity Teeter Tunnel, the end of the seesaw plank can land on them, posing a risk of serious injury and a crush hazard. As stated in the recall notice, the firm has received two reports of incidents. In one incident, a child sustained a liver laceration when the end of the seesaw plank landed on her abdomen. In the second incident, a child suffered fractures to his right tibia and right fibula when the end of the seesaw plank landed on him.

Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled teeter tunnels. Consumers should contact Playworld Systems to schedule a free repair. Playworld Systems is contacting all known purchasers directly and will request that consumers place the teeter tunnels out of service until the repair is completed.

Official Remedy
The official remedy is a free repair. Playworld Systems will send a certified playground installer to each location to repair the unit. No other remedy options, such as refund or replacement, are specified in the recall notice.
