1. Recall Summary
Calico Brands, of Ontario, California, is recalling approximately 175,000 Scripto® Premium Torches. The recall was initiated because the torches violate the requirements of the mandatory safety standard for multipurpose lighters. The recall notice was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on October 9, 2025. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

2. Affected Products
The recall involves the Scripto® Premium Torch. The product features a four-position adjustable metal nozzle, adjustable flame, hands-free operation lock, black ergonomic non-slip rubber grip, and a metal base with black velvet on the bottom. The UPC number “0-70257-52226-6” is printed on the back of the product box. The UPC number is also listed as 070257522266.

The torches were sold at Walmart and Home Depot stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com and Homedepot.com from November 2024 through August 2025 for approximately $15. The units were manufactured in China.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled torches violate the requirements of the mandatory safety standard for multipurpose lighters. The recall notice states that this violation poses deadly fire and burn hazards to consumers. No injuries have been reported to date.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled torches. Consumers must return the torches to the retailer where purchased for a full refund or store credit.
