2. Affected Products
The affected product is the Scepter Gas and Oil Combination Fuel Container. Approximately 700 units are included in this recall. The containers were sold online at Amazon.com from August 2024 through May 2025 for about $40. The product was manufactured in Canada. No specific model numbers or UPCs are listed in the recall notice.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled fuel containers violate mandatory safety standards for portable fuel containers. Specifically, the containers lack flame mitigation devices required under the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act. This violation poses a risk of flash fire. Additionally, the product violates the Children’s Gasoline Burn Prevention Act. The spout on the product is not child-resistant, which is required for all closures on portable gasoline fuel containers. This poses a risk of burn and poisoning to children. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled fuel containers. The containers must be placed out of reach of children. Consumers are instructed to write the word “Recalled” with a permanent marker on the container. After marking the container, consumers must take a photo of the container in the trash and submit that photo to the email address provided by the importer.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy for this recall is a full refund. Consumers who follow the instructions to mark the container and submit a photo of it in the trash will receive a full refund from Mameix Retail.
