1. Recall Summary
This recall involves Qumeney Bicycle Light Sets. The product violates the mandatory standard for consumer products containing button cell and coin batteries. The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in cooperation with the distributor, Xiamen Fanlu Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as Smfanlus, of China. The products were sold exclusively on Amazon.com.

2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Qumeney Bicycle Light Sets, models BL-01 and BL-02. The bicycle lights are encased in silicone material and are available in six colors: black, white, red, green, yellow, and blue. The lights are sold in two pack configurations: a 6-pack containing one of each color, and a 24-pack containing four of each color. Each individual light contains two button cell batteries. The packaging has “QUMENEY” printed on labels located at the top of the package. Approximately 2,800 units were sold in the United States. The products were sold online at Amazon.com from March 2024 through February 2026 for between $7 and $10 for the 6-pack and between $15 and $18 for the 24-pack. The products were manufactured in China.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled bicycle lights violate the mandatory standard for consumer products with button cell and coin batteries. The hazard is that the button cell batteries contained within the lights can be accessed easily by children, posing an ingestion hazard. Additionally, the bicycle lights do not have the warnings required under Reese’s Law. When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should stop using the recalled bicycle lights immediately. Consumers are instructed to contact Smfanlus for a full refund. To receive the refund, consumers will be asked to remove and properly dispose of the batteries and send a photo of the destroyed pieces of the light components to the email address provided by the distributor. Note: Button cell batteries are hazardous. Batteries should be disposed of or recycled by following local hazardous waste procedures.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a full refund. Consumers must follow the instructions provided by Smfanlus, which include removing the batteries, disposing of them according to local hazardous waste procedures, destroying the light components, and submitting a photo of the destroyed pieces to the distributor’s recall email address.
