1. Recall Summary
On May 9, 2024, Textron Specialized Vehicles, of Augusta, Georgia, initiated a recall of certain model year 2022 and 2023 Prowler Pro, Prowler Pro Crew, Tracker 800SX, and Tracker 800SX Crew utility vehicles. The recall was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under Recall Number 24229. The recall involves approximately 10,300 units in the United States and an additional 1,000 units sold in Canada.

2. Affected Products
The recall includes the following utility vehicles:
– Model years 2022 and 2023 Prowler Pro
– Model years 2022 and 2023 Prowler Pro Crew
– Model years 2022 and 2023 Tracker 800SX
– Model years 2022 and 2023 Tracker 800SX Crew

The vehicles were sold in various colors, including green, gray, red, fossil, and timber. The word “Prowler” or “Tracker” is stamped on the side of the cargo box. The 10th digit of the vehicle identification number (VIN) indicates the model year: an “N” for 2022 and a “P” for 2023. The VIN is printed on the operator side of the frame under the cargo box.

The vehicles were sold at Arctic Cat and Tracker dealers nationwide, including Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, and independent dealerships, from April 2021 through September 2023. The retail price ranged between $14,000 and $22,000. The manufacturer is Textron Specialized Vehicles, and the vehicles were manufactured in the United States.

3. Hazard Information
The hazard identified in the recall notice is that the fuel tank cap does not fit correctly, causing a fuel leak around the filler neck. This condition poses a fire hazard. The firm has received 48 reports of incidents of fuel leakage around the cap. No injuries have been reported.
