Affected Products
The recalled product is the Place & Time battery-operated desk lamp with a USB cord. The lamp was sold in three colors:
– Green, model number 4843351B
– Pink, model number 4843351A
– Cream, model number 4843351D
The model number can be found on a label on the bottom of the lamp. The lamp measures approximately 12 inches in height when the neck is fully extended and about 4 inches wide at the base. The recall includes all units sold during the specified period. No other models, colors, or product lines are included in this recall.
Hazard Information
The desk lamp’s battery compartment can overheat while using the USB charging cord. This overheating poses a fire hazard. The firm has received three reports of the battery compartment melting or popping while the lamp was charging with the USB cord. No injuries have been reported in connection with this hazard.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled desk lamps. The lamps should be unplugged and removed from any location where they are in use. Consumers are instructed to return the recalled lamps to any Jo-Ann Store for a full refund. For consumers who are unable to return the lamp to a physical store, an alternative process is available: they may email a photo of the purchase receipt to customer.service@joann.com with the subject line “Desk Lamp Recall Refund” to receive an electronic gift card for the amount shown on the purchase receipt. If the consumer does not have a purchase receipt, they may still receive a $23 store credit by providing a photo of the lamp itself.

The official remedy for this recall is a full refund. Consumers who return the lamp to a Jo-Ann Store will receive a full refund of the purchase price.
