1. Recall Summary
Modera, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a recall for Modera “Pack N Play” Play Yard Mattresses. The recall was announced on October 30, 2025. The mattresses violate the mandatory federal safety standard for crib mattresses. The recall involves approximately 15,000 units sold in the United States.

2. Affected Products
The recall includes Modera Organic Cotton Pack N Play Mattress Dual-Sided Portable Baby Crib Pads. The mattresses were sold in white, pink, blue, and gray. Each mattress has “Modera baby” printed on labels attached to the product. The mattresses are dual-sided, with one side labeled “infant” and the other side labeled “toddler.” The dimensions of the recalled mattress are 38 inches long, 26 inches wide, and 1.5 inches thick. The products were manufactured in China. The mattresses were sold exclusively online at Amazon from April 2024 through June 2025 for a retail price between $30 and $44. The importer is ABL Group, Inc. dba Upperluxe and Modera Store, of Brick, New Jersey.

3. Hazard Information
The after-market play yard mattresses may not adequately fit certain play yards. This condition violates the mandatory federal standard for crib mattresses. The hazard description in the recall notice states that babies have suffocated in gaps between an undersized mattress, or extra padding, and the side walls of a product, especially when the infant’s face becomes trapped against the side and the mattress, preventing the infant from breathing. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mattresses. Consumers are instructed to cut the mattresses in half. After destroying the mattress, consumers must send a photo of the destroyed mattress in the waste bin to the email address recall@moderababy.com. Upon receipt and verification of the photo, consumers will receive a full refund.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy for this recall is a full refund. Consumers are not required to return the product to the retailer. The refund is contingent upon the consumer providing photographic proof that the mattress has been cut in half and disposed of.
