Recall Summary
This recall involves the Quad Lock MAG Battery Pack wireless portable charger. The recall was initiated on November 7, 2024, by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under Recall Number 25035. The product was imported by Annex Products Pty Ltd., dba Quad Lock, of Australia. The recall was issued due to a fire hazard associated with the battery pack. Quad Lock has received 39 reports of incidents in the United States, including three reports of fire and 36 reports of smoking, melting, cracking or swelling, resulting in two reports of property damage. Internationally, Quad Lock has received 170 reports of incidents, including four reports of fire and 166 reports of smoking, melting, cracking or swelling, resulting in one report of property damage.

Affected Products
The recalled product is the Quad Lock MAG Battery Pack, a wireless portable charger equipped with chargeable lithium-ion batteries. The power banks were sold in black and measure three inches long and two inches wide. The brand name “Quad Lock” is stamped in the plastic on the front of the device, and the model number is stamped on the back of the battery pack. Approximately 13,700 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 1,580 units were sold in Canada. The products were sold online at www.quadlockcase.com and www.amazon.com, as well as through various third-party sellers worldwide, from April 2023 through September 2024, for a price between $60 and $80. The units were manufactured in China.

Hazard Information
The battery pack in the chargers can overheat, posing a fire hazard. The recall notice explicitly states that the recalled lithium-ion batteries are potentially hazardous and should be handled differently than other batteries. Consumers are warned not to throw the recalled battery in the trash and not to deposit it in used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores.
