1. Recall Summary
Aurohealth LLC, in cooperation with The Kroger Co., is recalling Kroger brand Acetaminophen Arthritis Pain Extended-Release Tablets, USP, 650 mg. The recall was initiated because the product’s packaging fails to meet the child-resistant packaging requirement under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The recall was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on June 16, 2022. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
2. Affected Products
The recalled product is Kroger brand Acetaminophen, Arthritis Pain, Extended-Release, Tablets USP, 650 mg, sold in 225-count bottles. The bottle has a red, white, and yellow label and a red continuous thread gear closure. The product’s UPC number is 041260012846. The following lot numbers and expiration dates are included in this recall:
– Lot P2100890 (Expiration Date: Aug-2023)
– Lot P2100891 (Expiration Date: Aug-2023)
– Lot P2100992 (Expiration Date: Aug-2023)
– Lot P2101010 (Expiration Date: Apr-2023)
The UPC number, lot number, and expiration date are printed near the drug facts panel on the label on the back of the bottle. Approximately 25,660 units were affected. The recalled bottles were sold at Baker’s, City Market, Dillons, Dillons Marketplace, Fred Meyer, Fry’s Food and Drug, Fry’s Marketplace, Fry’s Mercado, Gerbes, JayC, JayC Food Plus, King Soopers, King Soopers Fresh Fare, King Soopers Marketplace, Kroger, Kroger Fresh Fare, Kroger Marketplace, Mariano’s, Metro Market, Payless Super Market, Pick ‘n Save, Pick ‘n Save Marketplace, Quality Food Center (QFC), Smith’s, and Smith’s Marketplace stores nationwide. The products were sold from December 2021 through March 2022 for a price between $14 and $17.
3. Hazard Information
The recalled over-the-counter product contains the regulated substance acetaminophen. Under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA), products containing this substance must be packaged in child-resistant packaging. The packaging of the recalled products is not child resistant. This poses a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately store the recalled product in a safe location out of reach and sight of children. Consumers should then contact Kroger for information on how to properly dispose of the product and receive a full refund.
