1. Recall Summary
This recall involves John Deere XUV590 Gator utility vehicles. The recall was initiated by Deere & Company, of Moline, Illinois, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall notice was published on June 8, 2023. The recall is classified as a Recall Alert. The vehicles were manufactured in the United States. Approximately 1,600 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 60 units were sold in Canada.
2. Affected Products
The recalled products are John Deere™ XUV590E, XUV590M, and XUV590M S4 Gator™ utility vehicles. The model number is printed on the hood and is one of the following: XUV590E, XUV590M, or XUV590M S4. The words “John Deere” and “Gator” are printed on the cargo box. The vehicles have side-by-side seating for either two or four people. They were sold in the following color options: green and yellow, olive and black, or TrueTimber® Kanati® Camo.
The serial number is located on the vehicle frame to the right of the rear hitch receiver. The following serial numbers are included in this recall:

– 1M0590ED+PM060005 through PM060027
– 1M0590MA+PM060654 through PM061746
– 1M0590MA+PM061746
– 1M0590MD+PM060005 through PM060017
– 1M0590MB+PM060225 through PM060631

The vehicles were sold by authorized John Deere dealers nationwide and online at www.deere.com from December 2022 through March 2023. The retail price was between $14,500 and $17,500.
3. Hazard Information
The hazard identified in the recall notice is that fuel can leak from under the fuel cap, posing a fire hazard. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should stop using the recalled XUV590 Gator utility vehicles immediately. Consumers should contact an authorized John Deere dealer to schedule a free inspection. John Deere is contacting all known purchasers directly.
