StyleCraft LLC, of Boca Raton, Florida, is recalling approximately 50,000 units of its Instinct Professional Vector Motor Cordless Hair Clippers (model number SC607M). An additional 1,320 units were sold in Canada. The recall was initiated due to reports of the lithium-ion battery overheating, which poses fire and burn hazards. The recall notice was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on June 20, 2024.

The lithium-ion battery in the recalled clippers can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. StyleCraft has received six reports of the batteries overheating or causing a fire, including one report of a minor burn. No other injuries or property damage have been reported as of the recall date.

Consumers should immediately stop using and charging the recalled clippers. Consumers must visit StyleCraft for instructions on how to remove the battery. After removal, consumers should dispose of the battery in accordance with local and state regulations.
