The recall involves Holosun Red Dot Sights (Model HS503G-ACSS) and Holosun Gold Dot Sights (Model HE512C-GD). The recall was initiated because the products violate mandatory federal safety regulations for consumer products containing button cell or coin batteries, specifically regarding child-resistant packaging and required warning labels. The recall was published on February 20, 2025, under CPSC Recall Number 25143.

2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Holosun Firearm Dot Sights, which are accessories that attach to a firearm and produce an illuminated color dot for precision aiming. The specific models affected are:
– Red Dot Sight (Model HS503G-ACSS)
– Gold Dot Sight (Model HE512C-GD)

The products are matte black in color. Each unit includes the dot sight, one packaged CR2032 lithium coin battery, and a manual. The product name and model number are printed on the packaging sleeve, box, manual, and product display panel. The products were sold at Primary Arms, EuroOptic, GRITR Sports, Davidson’s, MidwayUSA, Carolina Sporting Arms, Palmetto State Armory, and other stores nationwide, as well as online at opticsplanet.com. They were sold from February 2023 through August 2024 for between $250 and $350, depending on the model. The products were manufactured in China and imported by Holosun Technologies Inc., of City of Industry, California.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled Holosun Red and Gold Firearm Dot Sights violate mandatory federal regulations for consumer products containing button cell or coin batteries. The lithium coin battery can be easily accessed, posing an ingestion hazard. The products include a lithium coin battery which is not in child-resistant packaging, as required by Reese’s Law. Additionally, the products do not bear the required warnings. When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Firearm Dot Sights and place them in an area that children cannot access. Consumers should contact Holosun Technologies for instructions on receiving a free recall kit. For Model HS503G-ACSS (Red Dot Sight), the recall kit includes a battery compartment enclosure with the required labeling and an updated instruction manual. For Model HE512C-GD (Gold Dot Sight), Holosun Technologies will provide free return shipping to install a compliant battery compartment tray and will include a compliant instruction manual and new packaging. Holosun Technologies is contacting all known purchasers directly. Note: Button cell and coin batteries are hazardous. Batteries should be disposed of or recycled by following local procedures for hazardous household waste, not in the trash.

For Model HS503G-ACSS, consumers will receive a free recall kit containing a battery compartment enclosure with required labeling and an updated instruction manual. For Model HE512C-GD, consumers will receive free return shipping to have a compliant battery compartment tray installed, along with a compliant instruction manual and new packaging.
