True Manufacturing Co. Inc., of O’Fallon, Missouri, in cooperation with Secop GmbH, of Germany (compressors), is recalling commercial refrigerators equipped with Secop compressors. The recall involves approximately 29,200 units sold in the United States and about 50 units sold in Mexico. The recalled products were sold directly to commercial food service businesses by dealers and distributors from January 2018 through June 2020, with prices ranging between $3,000 and $8,000. The recall was initiated due to a fire hazard associated with the compressor.

2. Affected Products
The recall includes commercial refrigerators with Secop compressors bearing model number NLE11MN. The refrigerators are manufactured by True Manufacturing and are available in black and stainless steel finishes. Configurations include double, triple, and sliding doors. The model and serial numbers are printed on a label located inside the refrigerator cabinet by the left door. The following refrigerator models and serial number ranges are included:

3. Hazard Information
The recalled commercial refrigerators with Secop compressors can fail in a manner causing the compressor to overheat, posing a fire hazard. The firm has received 14 reports of fires resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using commercial refrigerators with Secop compressors with model number NLE11MN. Consumers should contact True Manufacturing for a free repair. 5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a free repair. The original Secop ePTC starter in the compressor with the RSCR motor configuration will be replaced with the CSIR motor configuration.
