On April 2, 2026, a recall was announced for Coluans Christmas Light-Up Rings Party Favors. The recall was issued due to the product violating the mandatory safety standard for toys. The recall involves Coluans Christmas Light-Up Rings Party Favors, model number SJP-50. The product consists of 50 multi-colored party favors, including light-up Santas, Christmas trees, gingerbread men, and other Christmas-themed shapes. Each ring includes three preinstalled button cell batteries. The batteries are visible through the inner clear casing of the ring. The light-up rings have “SJP-50” and “SDJRJJZ0813” printed on labels located at the bottom of the packaging box.

Approximately 3,540 units of this product are affected by the recall. The products were sold online at Amazon.com from August 2025 through December 2025 for a price between $15 and $20. The distributor of the recalled product is Dongguan Oukatuo Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as BUDI Official, of China. The product was manufactured in China.

3. Hazard Information

The recalled light-up rings violate the mandatory safety standard for toys. The violation is due to the battery compartment within the LED light ring containing button cell batteries that can be easily accessed by children. The hazard associated with this product is that when button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required

Consumers are instructed to take the recalled light-up rings away from children immediately. Consumers must stop using the product immediately. Consumers are directed to remove the button cell batteries from the light-up rings and properly dispose of the batteries. After removing the batteries, consumers will be asked to throw away the light-up rings. To receive a refund, consumers must send a photo of the disposed product to the email address provided by the distributor.

The official remedy for this recall is a full refund. To obtain the refund, consumers must dispose of the light-up rings and send a photo of the disposed product to BUDIrecall@outlook.com.
