1. Recall Summary
Moderne Glass Company Inc., of Aliquippa, Pa., is recalling approximately 2,500 coffee cups. The recall involves the Moderne Glass Company 15-ounce ceramic coffee cups. The cups are black on the outside and white on the inside. They measure approximately 4 inches high and 3 inches wide. The model number “71500-White” is printed on the bottom of the cups. These cups were sold as promotional products with company names printed on them. The recall was initiated because the cups can crack or break when hot water is poured into them, posing a burn hazard. The recall was published as a Recall Alert by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on May 19, 2022.
2. Affected Products
The affected product is the Moderne Glass Company 15-ounce ceramic coffee cup. The cups are black on the outside and white on the inside. The dimensions are approximately 4 inches high and 3 inches wide. The model number “71500-White” is printed on the bottom of the cups. The cups were sold as promotional products with company names printed on them. The number of units affected is about 2,500. The cups were manufactured in China. They were sold online at www.glassamerica.com as promotional products with company names on them from February 2021 through February 2022 for about $4.
3. Hazard Information
The hazard associated with this product is that the coffee cup can crack or break when hot water is poured into it, posing a burn hazard. Moderne Glass Company has received six reports of cups cracking after pouring hot water into them. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coffee cups. Consumers should contact Moderne Glass Company to receive a full refund. Moderne Glass Company is contacting all known purchasers directly.
