1. Recall Summary
On July 28, 2022, KTM North America Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), issued a recall alert for certain closed course competition motorcycles. The recall involves model year 2022 KTM, Husqvarna, and GASGAS motorcycles. The recall number is 22762. The recall was published on July 28, 2022. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

2. Affected Products
The recall includes the following model year 2022 closed course competition motorcycles:
– KTM: 125 SX, 125 XC, 150 SX
– Husqvarna: TC 125
– GASGAS: MC 125

Model numbers are printed on the side panel or rear fender of each motorcycle. The KTM motorcycles are orange, black, and white with a white KTM logo on both sides of the shrouds. The Husqvarna motorcycles are white, blue, and yellow with a blue Husqvarna logo on both sides of the shrouds. The GASGAS motorcycles are red with a white GASGAS logo on both sides of the shrouds.

Approximately 3,310 units are affected. The motorcycles were sold at KTM, GASGAS, and Husqvarna Motorcycle dealers nationwide from March 2021 through March 2022. The retail price ranged between $7,200 and $8,100. The motorcycles were manufactured in Austria by KTM AG.

3. Hazard Information
The hazard identified in the recall notice is that the motorcycle’s connecting rod can break. This condition poses crash and injury hazards to the rider. No injuries have been reported as of the recall publication date.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop riding the recalled closed course competition motorcycles. Owners should contact an authorized KTM, Husqvarna, or GASGAS Motorcycles dealer to schedule a free repair. KTM is contacting all known purchasers directly.
