On June 20, 2024, a recall was announced for Cedona Natural View six-drawer dressers, model 33117082. The recall was issued by Global Homes USA, of Charlotte, North Carolina. The dressers were sold exclusively at Rooms To Go stores nationwide and online at www.roomstogo.com from November 2023 through February 2024. The recall was initiated due to the dressers posing tip-over and entrapment hazards and failing to comply with the performance requirements of the STURDY Act, a federal regulation for clothing storage units. Approximately 400 units were affected. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

2. Affected Products
The recalled product is the Cedona Natural View six-drawer dresser, model number 33117082. The dresser measures approximately 68 inches long by 18 inches wide by 36 inches tall and weighs approximately 238 pounds. The product can be identified by a white label affixed to the back of the dresser, which displays the model number 33117082 printed in black ink. The dressers were sold exclusively at Rooms To Go stores and online at www.roomstogo.com from November 2023 through February 2024 for about $1,000. The country of origin for these dressers is India.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall. This instability poses serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children. The dressers do not comply with the performance requirements of the STURDY Act, which is a federal regulation governing the stability of clothing storage units. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should stop using the recalled dresser immediately. Consumers are instructed to contact Rooms To Go to arrange for a free replacement. Rooms To Go will schedule a free delivery of the replacement dresser and will remove the recalled dresser from the consumer’s home. Rooms To Go is contacting all known purchasers directly regarding this recall.

The official remedy for this recall is a free replacement dresser. Rooms To Go will provide a replacement unit at no cost to the consumer. The company will also handle the delivery of the new dresser and the removal of the recalled dresser at no charge.
