1. Recall Summary
This recall involves approximately 8.2 million units of Thermos Stainless King Food Jars and Thermos Sportsman Food & Beverage Bottles. The recall was initiated by Thermos L.L.C., of Schaumburg, Illinois, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The products were manufactured in China and Malaysia. 2. Affected Products
The recall includes the following products:
– Thermos Stainless King Food Jars with model numbers SK3000 and SK3020, manufactured before July 2023.
– Thermos Sportsman Food & Beverage Bottles with model number SK3010.

Retail Information:
The products were sold at Target, Walmart, and other stores nationwide, as well as online at Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, and Thermos.com. The products were sold between approximately March 2008 and July 2024 for about $30.
3. Hazard Information
The hazard involves the stopper of the recalled containers. If perishable food or beverages are stored in the container for an extended period of time, the stopper can forcefully eject when opened. This can result in serious impact injury and laceration hazards to the consumer.
Injury Reports:
Thermos has received 27 reports of consumers who were struck by a stopper that forcefully ejected from these containers upon opening. These reports include complaints of impact and laceration injuries requiring medical attention. Three consumers suffered permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye.
4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should stop using the recalled Food Jars and Bottles immediately. Consumers must then contact Thermos to receive a free replacement pressure relief stopper or replacement Bottle, depending on the model.
– For recalled SK3000 and SK3020 Food Jars: Consumers will be asked to throw away the stopper and send a photo of the disposed stopper to Thermos.
– For recalled SK3010 Bottles: Consumers will be asked to return their recalled Bottle to Thermos using a prepaid shipping label.
5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a replacement. Specifically:
– For SK3000 and SK3020 Food Jars: Consumers will receive a free replacement pressure relief stopper.
– For SK3010 Bottles: Consumers will receive a free replacement Bottle.
