Approximately 16,570 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 790 units were sold in Canada. The products were manufactured in Taiwan. They were sold by industrial and safety product distributors nationwide and online at Ergodyne’s website and other online marketplaces, including Amazon.com, from September 2018 through July 2023. The retail price was approximately $20 for a pack of six, or up to about $400 when sold as part of the kits.
Hazard Information
The hazard identified in the recall notice is that the wire tool attachment can break when dropped while tethered to a tool exceeding two pounds. This failure poses an injury hazard to bystanders. No injuries or incidents have been reported to Ergodyne or CPSC as of the date of the recall notice.

Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the recalled wire tool attachment. Consumers should contact Ergodyne to obtain a prepaid shipping label. The product must be returned to Ergodyne using that label. Ergodyne is contacting all known purchasers directly regarding the recall.
Official Remedy
The official remedy is a refund. Upon return of the recalled product, consumers will receive a $4 refund per wire tool (up to $24 per six-pack) in the form of a credit toward another Ergodyne product. The refund is issued as store credit, not as a cash refund.
