1. Recall Summary
Rosso Motors, of Canada, is recalling approximately 2,800 youth model all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). The recall involves the Rosso Motors eQuad X 800W and eQuad Q 1000W electric youth ATVs. The ATVs were sold exclusively online at RossoMotors.com from June 2019 through April 2021 for between $650 and $925. The ATVs were manufactured in China.

2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Rosso Motors eQuad X 800W and eQuad Q 1000W electric youth ATVs. The vehicles have four wheels and were sold in blue, pink, army camo, red camo, and black colors. “Rosso” is printed on the ATV body and handlebar pad. The model name is printed above the front right fender, and the model number is printed on a metal plate above the front right wheel. The recall includes all units sold within the specified date range.

3. Hazard Information
The Rosso Motors eQuad X and eQuad Q youth model ATVs do not meet mandatory federal safety standards. Specifically, the youth ATVs exceed the maximum speed limitations for vehicles intended for children ages 6 and older, which poses a risk of high-speed crash. Additionally, for certain ATVs, the mechanical suspension fails to comply with the safety standard requirement. ATVs that fail to meet mandatory safety requirements pose a risk of serious injury or death to consumers. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ATVs. Consumers must contact Rosso Motorsports to arrange to return the recalled ATVs for a refund. The refund amount is determined by a depreciation schedule based on the purchase date and the date the refund is requested by the consumer, measured from the Recall Announcement Date (December 15, 2022).

The depreciation schedule is as follows:

– For purchases made after August 1, 2020:
– Refund requested within 0-6 months: 100% refund
– Refund requested within 6-12 months: 80% refund
– Refund requested within 12-18 months: 65% refund
– Refund requested after 18+ months: 40% refund

– For purchases made between August 1, 2019 and July 31, 2020:
– Refund requested within 0-6 months: 80% refund
– Refund requested within 6-12 months: 65% refund
– Refund requested after 12+ months: 40% refund

– For purchases made prior to August 1, 2019:
– Refund requested within 0-6 months: 65% refund
– Refund requested after 6+ months: 40% refund

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a refund. Consumers must contact Rosso Motorsports to arrange the return of the recalled ATVs. The refund amount will be calculated according to the depreciation schedule provided in the recall notice.
