1. Recall Summary
ProRider, Inc., of Kent, Washington, is recalling approximately 9,546 bicycle helmets. The recall involves ProRider Economy Bicycle Helmets, Bike Helmets with turn ring, Bike Helmets Black Foam, BMX Helmets, and Toddler Bike Helmets. The helmets were sold in blue, green, red, black, and purple. The model number, date of manufacture in MM/YYYY format, and serial number are located on a label inside the helmet. The helmets were distributed by Wisconsin Bike Federation, Kiwanis Club, and Foster Love nationwide, and sold online at ProRider.com from June 2022 through May 2023 for between $5 and $18. The helmets were manufactured in China.

– Size S/M (Small/Medium): Manufacture Date 12/2022, Serial Numbers 00141944 and 00140406.
– Size L/XL (Large/Xtra-Large): Manufacture Date 44835, Serial Numbers 00134699 and 00134652.
– Model BG-14BICYCLE (Bike Helmet Black Foam)
– Size L/XL (Large/Xtra-Large): Manufacture Date 12/2022, Serial Number 145398.
– Model SPORT HELMET (BMX Helmet)
– Size XS (Xtra-Small): Manufacture Date 09/2022, Serial Number 127689.
– Model BM-5TODDLER (Toddler Bike Helmet)
– Size XXS (Xtra-Xtra-Small): Manufacture Date 09/2022, Serial Number: None specified in the recall notice.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled helmets violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets. Specifically, the helmets do not comply with the impact attenuation, positional stability, labeling, and certification requirements. As a result, the helmets can fail to protect the user in the event of a crash, posing a risk of injury or death due to head injury. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled helmets. Consumers must destroy the helmet by cutting the straps. After destroying the helmet, consumers should send a photo of the destroyed helmet to org@prorider.com to obtain a refund.
