Recall Summary
Empower Brands, LLC, of Middleton, Wisconsin, is recalling approximately 319,000 PowerXL dual-basket air fryers. The recall was published on December 14, 2023, under CPSC Recall Number 24051. The recall involves two models of the PowerXL dual-basket air fryer: the 10-quart DUAF-10 model and the 9-quart DUAF-005 model. The air fryers are egg-shaped, have two baskets that can be used separately or combined into one large single basket, and were sold in black or cinnamon colors. The DUAF-10 model measures about 17 inches long by 16 inches wide by 12 1/2 inches tall and weighs about 14 1/2 pounds. The DUAF-005 model measures about 14 inches long by 13 inches wide by 15 inches tall and weighs about 14 pounds. Each unit has a silver label on the front that says “PowerXL” and a white label on the bottom or on the power cord that lists the model number.

The products were sold at Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, and other stores nationwide, as well as online at www.target.com, www.walmart.com, www.kohls.com, and other websites from August 2021 through October 2023. The retail price range was between $60 and $190, depending on the model. The products were manufactured in China. The number of units affected is about 319,000.

Hazard Information
The hazard identified in the recall notice is that the plastic U-Channel connector used to optionally combine the two food baskets inside the air fryers can break during use, posing a burn hazard.
