1. Recall Summary
On May 9, 2024, a recall was announced for Korimefa multi-purpose bike helmets for teens and adults. The recall was issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under Recall Number 24232. The helmets were imported by Shanghai Yangxi Dian Zi Shang Wu You Xian Gong Si, doing business as Yangxi, of China, and were sold exclusively on Amazon.com. The recall was initiated because the helmets do not comply with the CPSC federal safety standard for bicycle helmets, specifically regarding positional stability requirements. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

2. Affected Products
The recalled product is the Korimefa multi-purpose bike helmet for teens and adults, size Medium (M). The helmet fits a head circumference of approximately 21-1/2 to 22-1/2 inches. The helmets are sold in the color blue, with black padding, black straps, and a black and red buckle. The helmet features a black plastic knob at the back for adjusting the fit. The model number “W-001”, the serial number “LDW202103”, and the manufacture date “03/2021” are printed on a white label on the inside of the helmet. The word “KORIMEFA” is printed on the front of the helmet. Approximately 60 units were sold. The helmets were sold online at Amazon.com from April 2022 through November 2022 for about $24.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled helmets do not comply with the positional stability requirements of the CPSC federal safety standard for bicycle helmets. As a result, the helmets can fail to protect the wearer in the event of a crash, posing a risk of head injury. No injuries have been reported as of the date of the recall notice.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Korimefa helmets. To receive a refund, consumers must destroy the helmet by cutting off the straps, then take a photo of the destroyed helmet, and send the photo to the recalling firm by email at marketing.us@hotmail.com. After submitting proof of destruction, consumers should dispose of the recalled helmet. Yangxi is contacting all purchasers directly.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a full refund. Consumers who follow the destruction and photo submission process will receive a full refund from Yangxi.
