Hazard Information
The lithium-ion battery in the recalled power banks can overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. The firm has received 51 consumer reports of the lithium-ion battery overheating, expanding, or catching fire while consumers were charging their phones. These incidents resulted in six minor burn injuries. No other injuries or property damage figures are specified in the recall notice. The recall notice does not provide information on the severity of the burns or any medical treatment required.
Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wireless portable power banks. Consumers must not throw the recalled lithium-ion battery or device in the trash, in general recycling streams (e.g., street-level or curbside recycling bins), or in used battery recycling boxes found at retail and home improvement stores. Recalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries because they present a greater risk of fire. Consumers should contact their municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center to ask whether they accept recalled lithium-ion batteries. If the HHW center does not accept them, consumers should contact their municipality for further guidance. Consumers should then contact Casely for a free replacement. To receive the free replacement, consumers must go to the firm’s website and fill out the online form, submitting two photographs: one showing the front of the power bank with the word “Recalled” and the date written in permanent marker, and a second photograph showing the model number on the back of the power bank. Photos should be uploaded to the firm’s website at https://www.getcasely.com/pages/2025-recall. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required. Casely is contacting all known purchasers directly.
