1. Recall Summary
On February 6, 2025, Ariens Company, of Brillion, Wisconsin, initiated a voluntary recall of certain DELUXE-, PLATINUM-, and PROFESSIONAL-series Sno-Thro® snow throwers. The recall was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under Recall Number 25124. The recall involves approximately 6,260 units in the United States and an additional 1,100 units sold in Canada. The recalled snow throwers were sold at authorized Ariens dealers nationwide, as well as at Ace Hardware, Blain’s Farm & Fleet, Do It Best, Family Farm & Home, Mills Fleet Farm, Northern Tool and Equipment, Lowe’s, and True Value, and online at AceHardware.com, Farmandfleet.com, Doitbest.com, familyfarmandhome.com, Lowes.com, fleetfarm.com, northerntool.com, and TrueValue.com. The products were sold from August 2024 through October 2024, with prices ranging between $1,770 and $5,440. The manufacturer is Ariens Company, and the products were manufactured in the United States.

2. Affected Products
The recall applies to Ariens DELUXE-, PLATINUM-, and PROFESSIONAL-series Sno-Thro® snow throwers. The recalled units are bright orange in color and are equipped with either rear wheels or tracks. The model number and serial number are located on a white square ID tag affixed to the frame of the machine. Consumers are urged to visit https://www.ariensco.com/safetyrecall for a complete list of recalled units. Some recalled snowblowers have already been inspected and repaired; consumers should verify the status of their unit. 3. Hazard Information
The hazard associated with the recalled snow throwers is a laceration risk. Specifically, the impeller and auger assembly can continue rotating even after the operator releases the control lever. This poses a laceration hazard if a user makes contact with the rotating parts inside the housing enclosure at the front of the machine. As of the recall publication date, no injuries have been reported in connection with this defect.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the recalled snow throwers. They should then contact Ariens Company or an authorized Ariens dealer to arrange for a free repair at their local dealership. Consumers should be prepared to provide the model and serial number of their unit. Ariens Company and its authorized dealers will confirm whether a unit has already been inspected and/or repaired, and will perform all necessary repairs on affected units.
