1. Recall Summary
On March 2, 2023, a recall was announced for Ouwoer Kids Bike Helmets. The recall was issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under Recall Number 23730. The recall involves approximately 120 units of multi-purpose kids bike helmets sold exclusively on Amazon.com by Ouwoer Direct. The helmets were manufactured by Huizhou Lanova Outdoor Product Company, of China, and distributed by Xiamen Ouwoer Trading Co. Ltd., of China. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

2. Affected Products
The recalled product is the Ouwoer Kids Bike Helmet, identified by production date 202201. The helmets are red in color with black straps and a black buckle. The production date is printed on a white label located on the inside of the helmet. The helmets were sold online at Amazon.com from March 2022 through November 2022 for approximately $30. The recall applies only to helmets bearing the production date 202201. No model numbers or UPCs are specified in the recall notice.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled helmets do not comply with the positional stability and impact attenuation requirements of the CPSC federal safety standard for bicycle helmets. As a result, the helmets can fail to protect a child in the event of a crash, posing a risk of head injury. No incidents or injuries have been reported to date. The hazard is based on the failure to meet mandatory federal safety standards for bicycle helmets.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the recalled helmets. To receive a refund, consumers must destroy the helmet by cutting off the straps. After destroying the helmet, consumers should email a photo of the helmet with the straps cut off to Ouwoer@hotmail.com as proof of destruction. Consumers should dispose of the recalled helmets after submitting proof of destruction. Ouwoer Direct is contacting all purchasers directly regarding the recall.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a full refund. Consumers who provide proof of destruction (a photo of the helmet with the straps cut off) will receive a full refund from Ouwoer Direct. No other remedy options are specified in the recall notice.
